Dogs Don't Come Here to Be Managed.

They Come Here to Learn.

Most dogs aren't struggling because they're stubborn, dominant, or "bad."

They're struggling because they're being taught how to Comply - not how to Live.

At HOME Dog Training, we teach dogs how to think, focus, and engage, so obedience becomes a communication tool - not a crutch.

Education first

Is This You?

  • Your dog listens... until real life shows up

  • You feel like you're constantly managing behavior

  • Walks feel tense instead of enjoyable

  • Your dog is reactive, anxious, overexcited, or can't settle

  • Your dog "knows commands" but still struggles to make good choices

It doesn't mean they need more contol.

It means they need to know and understand how to handle their world.

The Problem with Obedience-Only Training

Obedience can create control.

It does not automatically create confidence.

And it rarely creates freedom.

A dog who only responds to commands depends on constant direction.

A dog who understands how to think, focus, and how to engage can

move through the world more calmly - even when no one is telling them what to do.

That difference is what real training looks like.

Madelaine P. - “Taking our dogs to HOME Dog Training was the best decision we ever made. They were patient, kind, and encouraging with both us and our dogs. They answered every question and showed us what worked best for each dog.

Not only did our dogs learn an incredible amount, but we gained a deeper understanding of their personalities and now have the tools to help them thrive.”

HOME is how we help dogs live bigger lives.

The HOME Method™

H - Habits

Daily structure that creates calm and consistency

O - Obedience

Skills that hold up in real-world situations

M - Manners

How your dog handles people, dogs, doors, food & excitement

E - Engagement

The automatic response that makes listening natural — not forced.

This isn't about managing behavior.

It's about building understanding.

Sylvia L. - “You are the only place I ever trusted with Teddy. You truly became his second home and felt like family to us. After his training, he was a happy, well-mannered dog, and he genuinely loved being there. We tell everyone about your talents and will continue to do so. Even after we move out of state, we will come back just to train another dog with you.”

Linda C. - “We utilized your services with my dog Mini, and she is truly a pleasure to have now because of you. I saw the hard work of every single person. You provide such a great service for people like me who just wanted their dog to be able to participate in life as a well-adjusted dog.

Being able to walk your dog in public and around other dogs and have them be well-mannered is such a blessing. Mini is still doing great, and it’s because of you that she’s able to live a more balanced life and participate in daily life with our family and friends.”

Why We Train This Way

This approach didn't come from a book.

Before founding HOME Dog Training, we were the founders and head trainers of America's largest indoor dog training facility.

We worked with thousands of dogs across every temperament and challenge imaginable.

We saw what worked.

We saw what worked temporarily.

And we saw what quietly made dogs more dependent, anxious, or restricted over time.

HOME exists because we chose to focus entirely on education, clarity, and real-life capability.

What Changes When Dogs Learn

  • Calmer without constant correction

  • Better choices around triggers and distractions

  • Faster recovery from stress or excitement

  • Improved settling at home and in public

  • Less tension, less chaos, less frustration

  • More freedom for everyone

How Getting Started Works

Why would you schedule something as important as your dog’s care, welfare, and training without first talking to a real person?

Every dog — and every situation — is different. Before scheduling anything, we believe it’s important to have a conversation to make sure we’re the right fit for you and your dog, and that your dog will be safe, comfortable, and set up for success.

If an in-person meeting is needed, we can always schedule that after we talk.

This isn’t a blind date — and it shouldn’t be.

That’s why we don’t use self-scheduling calendars.

  • You request a training call

  • We personally review your information

  • If it looks like a good fit, we'll reach out to schedule:

    • a focused phone consultation, or

    • a free in-person lesson so we can work with your dog and make the best recommendation

Rosie N. - “HOME Dog Training was instrumental in helping me with my two chihuahuas, Luna and Ruby. Ruby was a resource guarder, and before training I cried every time she lashed out in fear. After going through training, she is now a happy, confident girl, and we trust each other. No more tears.

We need trainers who are truly understanding and who genuinely love dogs — not trainers who are just in it for transactional value.”

Safety & Fit

For safety reasons, every dog and situation is reviewed individually.

Many dogs labeled as "aggressive" are actually reactive, fearful, or overwhelmed - and those are issues we reularly work with.

Because most owners don't have the context to accurately diagnose behavior, we make those determinations ourselves after a conversation and, when needed, an in-person evaluation.

This allows us to properly assess areas of concern such as:

  • Impulse Control Issues

  • Reactivity

  • Dog to dog aggression

  • Fear-based behaviors

  • Over-arousal

  • Lack of obedience or Manners

  • Dogs who simply don't know what they're supposed to do

If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly.

Ken E. - “Celebrating three years of training! Our dog went from feral to a very well-balanced, obedient dog. I’ll always take my dogs here — they’re the best in the business. If they can help my tornado, they can help any dog.”
